This course is aimed to first level graduate students in aeronautical engineering. Practical applications of theory are illustrated with many examples. The role of safety regulations in application of the theory is pointed in the appropriate chapters. Equations of the general motion of rigid airplane are developed and the particularized for steady state and perturbed motion. Aerodynamic and thrust forces and moments are discussed. The fundamental dynamic modes of airplane are analyzed. Control forces for longitudinal and lateral motion are developed. Response of the airplane under given control law is studied. Flying quality characteristics are studied in respect to Cooper-Harper scale and various civil and military regulations. The relation to airplane design is pointed out.
